  • Wordle: Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes.
  • VoiceThread: A VoiceThread is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos and allows people to navigate slides and leave comments in 5 ways - using voice (with a mic or telephone), text, audio file, or video (via a webcam). Share a VoiceThread with friends, students, and colleagues for them to record comments too.

  • Voki: Voki is a free service that allows you to create personalized speaking avatars and use them on your blog, profile, and in email messages.
  • Prezi: Prezi lets you bring your ideas into one space and see how they relate, helping you and your audience connect. Zoom out to see the big picture and zoom in to see details — a bit like web-based maps that have changed how we navigate through map books.
  • StoryBird: Storybirds are short, art-inspired stories you make to share, read, and print. You can write collaboratively.
  • ToonDoo: cool, comic-creating tool
  • KidBlog Kidblog meets the need for a safe and simple blogging platform suitable for elementary and middle school students. Most importantly, Kidblog allows teachers to monitor and control all publishing activity within the classroom blogging community.

  • Read Write Think: Literacy resources in English & Spanish
  • Howjsay: free online dictionary. The words are pre-recorded and it is not synthetic. You can also hear multiple entries by separating them with semi-colons. Can also translate into lots of language.
  • Make Beliefs Comix: Create your own comics online using characters and backgrounds. Free to use. Can be done in multiple languages.
